as you all can see and imagine: if I lift one paw, I will drop from the icecone....and then the report gets wet. And yes, I have heard now most of it.....really depressing....even the local walrusshop is selling out......he will travel to the Southpole now...I even have to steal fish from the local fisherman to feed my kids and my bearwife never asks again where I got the stuff...and the ice in the seas here is so quickly melting that I might think to emigrate too....maybe I will report with my family to the nearest Zoo....advantage is of course 3 meals a day and disadvantage is that all those stupid people are watching me all day, still pitying that they didnt do anything when they had a chance....well, from a dying race, goodmorning, goodafternoon, goodnight and within a couple of years: GOODBYE...

Finally we have a chance to stop the Hooligans world-wide. The firm UEFA-official and the 3 referees used the Uefa-laws to the ultimate extent and Denmark was declared to lose the game with 3-0, regardless the existing score of 3-3 which certainly would be temporary, because Sweden was given a penalty. This penalty was given after a real knockout given by a Danish defender and nobody knows why.....this game was the best ever played with only 2 yellow cards and suddenly at the end it snapped for one of the players and it escalated when the marshal weren't doing their jobs and were sitting picking their noses (clearly visible on screen!!!)

The guy explained later he had been drinking 20 beers.....but I don't think he will realise that those beers will become very costly when he is hold responsible for the lack of income when Denmark will play at home in an empty arena or stadium......newspapers already warn him to get himself a very very very good lawyer....

The player who got the red card really need to see a shrink and I do hope he will be banned from the field for many games to come...this is NOT a good example for younger promising football-players....

But I'm very glad that the UEFA is able to do something about it....hope they keep the same standard for other football games and -teams too...

This is, I hope, a real warning: HOOLIGANS, YOU'RE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They only wanted to rule their own country, make their own laws, have their own democratic government, but they were still living in the 50's-60's and real freedomfight would have results so many years later. But they were brave against a Russian Bear that had it all. They fought, waiting for their allies to rescue them, but those allies never showed up, the cowards, but well, that was politics. More than 200.000 people fled the country, some of them living in Norway nowadays.

Although my grandfather was a sometimes unpleasant man, he showed heart once in a while and I remember he send two lorries with clothing, food, medicine, gasbottles and kitchen-equipment to Hungary via his other buddies. He said: "they will lose the fight, but what the hell, they're fighting for a just cause" (he was a resistance man himself once...)

And in the year 2006 it happened again, not as violent as in 1956 but as fierce and justified as before. This time to fight a lie. A former friend of mine worked 50 meters from the demonstration-site and had to pass it every day and told me about the good mood and the rage and the disappointments.And again the eyes of the whole world were upon Budapest, after 50 years. But news agencies most of the time focused on the wrong scene's, filming riots and not the real demonstrations, honest, indignant but peaceful. This time another Bear caused the problems, the EU. And a PM who admitted to have told lies (well nothing new here, all politicians lie...it's a known fact) about the economy.

Most of the former East-European countries should have waited a couple of years before asking to be a member of the EU. As EU-history is written, these countries will be taken horrible advantage of, they are robbed and decimated by vultures and their companies. And the average citizen is the victim of all this. But Hungarians are known for their fierce will and stamina, they will survive.

So today I congratulate these proud people with the commemoration of their heroic uprising but condole them being a member-state of the EU. Well, as one says: you can't have it all..................

Killerwhales visiting us sometimes, well, they like the big Norwegian shrimps...lol....but this one is BAAAAAAAAAD!!

A whole bunch of dolphins entering Oslo Harbour and giving the schoolchildren a flashing show even at this time of year. For those who are familiar with Oslo, it's Bestumkilen in the background.

And they were even on Dagsnytt (The Daily News on Norwegian TV) without even asking for a financial contribution.....hope they disappear soon before the real cold sets in....but it was cute...

It seems that our Lord sometimes is on holidays or a bit absent and then His representative takes "over" and makes a mess of it. And he doesn't need funny pictures to do so, he just tells to everybody on TV that being a muslim is bad business. And then he says he is upset about the fact that he insulted every muslim in the world, well I would have been and more than that too.

To his defense I would say: as long as the muslims do not condemn terrorists who claim doing their "jobs" in name of the Quran and the Islam, he might have a point though(no offense). But performing this stunt in front of the whole world, is a bit disastrous. And one might expect that his Cardinal of Information (if that is his title) might feel the foot of the Lord on his ass.

And Jesus might have "a word" with his assistant too. He might even do that in German, so he will understand.

Bernadette and Veronica on Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France

I don't think I need to explain who St. Bernadette Soubirous was (1844-1879). Her life is known to almost every soul in the world. We all have heard about the miracles that happened in Lourdes, events that were too difficult or completely impossible to explain both by the scientific world and the Vatican. Not even so-called spontaneous recoveries were possible in some of these cases. But, really, who would care what doctors or priests or even the Pope had to say about this, when you all of a sudden discovered that your cancer was gone, that you could walk, that your speech came back, that you could see with retina's so destroyed that it never would be possible to use them ever again....and all of a sudden you saw the statue of St. Bernadette as clear as normal in that beautiful chapel, lit by 1000's of candles....

And really, wouldn't St. Bernadette listen to the prayers of her name-child accompanied by the girl whose name goes all the way back to Jesus' crucifixion, the woman who cleaned the face of the Lord on his difficult road to our Salvation?

Let's all pray and ask St. Bernadette to do what She thinks is best for Bernadette. And my daughter, your mother couldn't have chosen a better companion on this emotional and yes even joyful road to Lourdes, thank you for that gesture....Sebastiaan and me are with the 2 of you in our hearts and thoughts...

It will be sad never to hear that typical Australian accent anymore (even I sometimes used expressions from his shows on Animal Planet...)....but his enormous enthusiasm made up for it (my opnion...). Who would have guessed he would be killed by the simple but deadly sting of a stingray, most of the time a peaceful but still dangerous creature. Nobody will ever tell us why that animal all of a sudden turned around and slashed Steve with his sting, right into his heart. I think he knew that "this was the end", he even pulled out the sting from his chest so he wouldn't be found like that and then....he died...quick...no pain...(this is what phycisians said afterwards)...

We all remember his wild wildlife...lol...but he pacified animals that were a horror to us by explaining the character in real life; he warned for signals, he told children easy to remember stuff about the usual animal like dogs, cats, llama's etc...in a way that YOU REALLY NEEDED TO LISTEN to this "cute" and happy looking man...and the beautiful thing was that he and his wife Terri really were performing as ONE couple, they never interfered with each others explanations, they just added info to each others story. And you couldn't stop loving this guy.....

Maybe it is good that Terri wasn't there when he died. She didn't deserve that. She will have a hell of a time with their two kids to "survive" every day that comes. Don't forget her in your prayers, please...

He liked danger but always calculated danger, he never turned his back to ANY animal because he knew that....well, this time the animal turned its back and attacked...and really, he didn't stand a chance....let's not forget the lessons he told us about loving animals....and remember there are no mean cats, dogs etc...only stupid owners.....

Steve, we will never forget you and the shows you gave us from the bottom of your heart....sleep peacefully now, you have done your job well...

Marion Jones....again.....and why?

We all knew that she knew......so why even try? Maybe Epo causes severe brain-damage. Start with doing what England did: Convicted drugs-abusers in sports never ever will compete in the Olympic Games. Good start, even the 3 of 4 runners in the 4x100 relay for England didn't want the convicted nr 4 in their team and sabotaged the final under the European Championship in Gothenburg Sweden and everybody saw the reactions afterwards...way to go. BAN THE WHOLE LOT FOR LIFE!!!! We pay dear prices for our tickets and we want clean athletes! Worth our money...

19/08 B-sample not yet tested, but the athlete Marion Jones left the Golden League Event early in the morning as a kind of shadow.....

At last: today 08/09 the B-sample was tested and not positive....but with the amount of Epo found in the A-sample, one could frown the eyebrows and say: how can 2 samples taken at the same time, have so different amounts of Epo...lol...was it really her urine or had she something "hidden some place"...lol...

Even under the European Athletic Championships the dope-connoiseurs from Spain (why is that country all of a sudden THE champion for anti-dope? See what shit they produce in drugs and people) did slip a note that a lot of the Russian female athletes were drugged with an untreacable type of EPO. And watch the athletes who reached the medal-podium: NO SMILES......... they might have had thoughts like: Oh Jesus (in Russian of course) a couple of days and I have to return this medal again and what will everybody say....
Well, they produced a kind of physical form that was quite unheard of......not everybody though (I hope) : seeing the deep and satisfied smile of polevault "artist" Isibayeva, well, that made me smile....for the time being....
And of course the used stuff was found, very accidently, outside the hotel where the athletes had been living during the Games....one way or another, it always seems to pop up.....kind of organised proof....well, let's hope I'm dead wrong, but....
The ONLY WAY to get rid of these cheaters is to BAN THEM FOR LIVE, including the medical team and do like Italy does: PROSECUTE THEM......it's the only way...GET RID OF THE CHEATERS ONCE AND FOR ALL.........we want to pay for tickets for events that really are EVENTS and not DRUG-SHOWS...

15/8: The police in Gothenburg states today that what was found was a bag(s) with allowed vitamins and heartdrugs(?). Nice, good to hear, but why manipulate the athletes with injections, and athletes with heartdiseases should not be allowed on the track....and some of the known heartdrugs are in fact very suspicious.......but of course not yet on the "not-allowed" list....let's hope they are right this time....

Tja, dat was dan mijn 2e Keeshond die ik "zag gaan" zonder erbij te zijn. Eerst Lammetje en toen Gino. Deze keer wist ik in ieder geval dat ie in vertrouwde omgeving mocht inslapen, met zijn baasjes rond zich...en wat voor geweldige baasjes. Eerst Bernadette en ik, dan Sebastiaan en Marjolijn en toen zijn uiteindelijke baasjes Veronica en Bart. Bedankt voor al jullie liefde en toewijding en vooral Bart voor de geweldig mooie Gino met wie je wandelde, borstelde, kortom verzorgde tot de mooiste "bijna witte Kees" in Nederland (en daarbuiten). Denk dat Marius hem wel zal missen en ik hoop dat jullie hem vertellen dat ie er niet meer is (dat was iets wat Opa van Dijk even vergat met Lammetje en het is altijd moeilijk te verstouwen als je dat zelf van anderen moet horen)...

Gino, tja waar moet ik beginnen? Ik denk dat ik maar de specifieke fijne "incidenten" met hem zal noemen: als baas was ik een slechte, lol, ik had een hond en van mij mocht ie eigenlijk doen waar ie zin in had, misschien verkeerd, maar ja, dat was mijn manier om van hem te houden en eigenlijk vond ie het prachtig. Een echte baas aan wie Gino ECHT gehoorzaamde was Sebastiaan! Ieder "commando" werd met stipte plicht uitgevoerd. Voet en mijnheer zat omhoog te kijken naar "een van zijn baasjes"....en hij had de grootste lol erin als Sebasje probeerde hem te pakken te krijgen in de tuin, dat lukte nooit. Bepaald elegant rennen was er niet bij, hij liep als een raar soort hert, maar was altijd sneller dan iedereen als ie rond de vijver wegspoot...en als Sebastiaan eindelijk het opgaf, lagen ze beiden uitgeput naast elkaar te hijgen...

Bernadette, tja...lol...zij had altijd veel wandelingen met hem en het lolligste wat ik daarvan herinnerde waren zijn "stoutheid" en voorliefde voor zwempartijen. Hoewel we de pest hadden aan het feit dat sommige watertjes naar ijzeroxide roken en vreselijk stonken, hadden we Gino altijd verboden daar in te springen..ja zeker..hahahahaha...hij stond dan in zijn stereotype houding naar ons te kijken terwijl we NEE zeiden en dook dan "lachend" toch in zo'n stinkpoel....of de mystieke meertjes waar andere honden echt hun neus voor optrokken..Gino niet dus...plons en weg was ie en wij maar weer douchen en borstelen, maar hij was altijd erg rustig naderhand en boos op hem worden? Nou nee...hij werd zelfs hooggebergte en kano Kees met Veroontje en Bernadette in de Jotunheimen, iets zeldzaams om te zien voor de toeristen; ze vielen bijna van de richels af....

Prijzen winnen? Mot dat nou? Gino vond wijfjes veel leuker dan in een ring ronddrentelen met zijn baas die er geen bal van begreep.....de enige prijs die hij in de wacht sleepte was met Sebas en dan nog nadat zijn band het begaf...lol...

Groot was ie ook voor een Keeshond. Per vandaag zou hij niet meer passen in de maximum grootte voor Keeshonden, maar ja dat zagen we al toen toen we hem de eerste keer bezochten met zijn 5 zusjes...5 kleine rompjes en een grote wollen bal, dat was Gino..en ze hadden hem voor het gemak maar effe uit de korf geduwd, veel te groot voor die kleine meisjes...

Hij was waarschijnlijk een Kees met de meeste kilometers. Hij was veelbereisd, vloog vliegtuig, vond het leuk om achter eenden aan te gaan langs het kanaal in Utrecht en langs de roeibaan in Lelystad waar naar ik vernomen heb, nooit meer eenden in zwommen als Gino effe uitgelaten werd.

Maar hij was een lieve Keeshond. Toegewijd, bezitterig, eigenwijs (een van Dijk trekje...lol), soms kon ie je aankijken met z'n scheve koppie en dan zag je hem denken: tjonge, maak toch niet zo'n stennis, ik ben maar een hond....

En bij de duikfamilie had ie een heerlijk "thuis", mannebaasje verzorgde zijn pels en "liep" met hem, vrouwtjesbaasje zei hem wel effe wat wel en niet mocht en kon lekker met hem "vrijen"...bedankt allebei, het kan niet makkelijk voor jullie geweest zijn dit afscheid nemen....maar vertel Marius wel waar ie nu is, in jullie eigen woorden...

De gevreesde Keeshondenziekte kwam en hij overwon hem, de 2e keer echter was zijn lichaam te zwak en tuinde hij sterk en snel achteruit en dan is het erg moeilijk voor zijn baasjes om niet alleen hun hart te laten spreken maar ook hun hersens hoeveel pijn dat ook gekost heeft.

Ik geloof dat iedere nieuwe hondeneigenaar dat duidelijk gemaakt moet worden bij aankoop, de pijn en het verdriet als ie oud en gebrekkig eindelijk zijn koppie neerlegt en aangeeft: baasjes het is mooi geweest, ik wil graag naar "huis", naar mijn hondenhemel...groots zijn dan de eigenaars die dit begrijpen en er aan toegeven als een liefdevolle handeling en als een groot dank je wel aan de hond die trouwer was dan de mensen normaliter zijn, onvoorwaardelijk trouw.

Namens allemaal, dank je lieve Gino voor jouw leven met ons, het ga je goed en doe de groeten aan Lammetje als je hem tegenkomt, wie weet...

Please, don't correct your TV-set, there's nothing wrong with your screen....this "dark" movie plays all the time in the "real" dark and after a while your eyes really start to hurt... and people in the movie-theatres complain about the fact that they didn't know the movie already had started...it went unnoticed...

Furthermore it is a disguised version of the official Vatican movie: "How to be a devoted flagellate in 24 days..."...good old self-chastisement..and nothing more... a kind of Vatican wet-dream...sorry....lol

And of course, to educate people in the Vatican language, most of the demons words are in Latin..

All in all a typical Vatican movie, made to stir up the low-graded commercials the last couple of months showing the Pope really in action, writing a sermon on the DaVinci code of course....he of all brethren knows that the best promotion is bad promotion....and it seems to work, even in Russia they take his words for being the truth (well, he had better written something in the Pravda...lol)...

But read the book, I read it in one evening and a night and I'm still believing in the Holy Trinity but got amused by the feeble way they try to give Jesus Maria of Magdela as his girl and even reporting that there are little Christ-copies somewhere in the South of France.... where the climate is so delicious and warm....

Readers of my blog, buy yourselves some snacks, wine or beverages, order a pizza... and have a nice TV-free evening, talk with your wife (or the most important person in your relationship...) about the real important stuff between the 2 of you.....nobody needs a Code for that....huh???

Eurovision Song Contest.....woow...more than Wham..lol..

Listened to all the winners of this contest since Lys Assia won in 1958. Songs are different, people are different and so is the voting....sometimes like YES that's a winner to Oh My God something wrong with their ears when choosing one which wasn't my choice...lololol... but most of the time some winners still "sit" in your ears (and heart).

Mine will always be: Rock 'n Roll Kids sung by Paul Harrington and Charlie McGattigan in 1994, of course for the big winning nation Ireland. After that last victory the songwriters were kicked off the island for good, all the money for the next 20 years of ESC were used up by the consecutive 3 wins....but the song represented for me that sad and longing story of disappearing youth-feelings from an era so long ago "when we still were young..." and for this song you can keep all the rest of the commercial English trash over the years.

But this year we will have a rougher group than Norwegian Wham last year...from Finland, you don't believe it: LORDI (see picture..lol, it's really them..lol)...their song boycotted by several countries, they are very "in" at the bookies...In Norway we have a TV-show were all these new melodies are presented and judged by a panel of people who think they know it all or have seen it all....but this time the Lordi group ( a rough mixzzzzzzture of The Scorpions, KiZZZ and even worse groups, taken directly from the phantasy-dreams of Calvin & Hobbes) scored 95% and even the conservative Norwegian member gave it the highest points: 5.....I almost dropped from my chair...lol

Memoirs of a Geisha - a movie review........

Charming movie if you are able to place yourself in the old Orient...with all its old tradition and the error we in the West always make, that a Geisha is just a simple whore......well she isn't.

She is just a kind of lady companion, who is trained in conversation, in dance and playing the old Ehru, a kind of guitar.

That one is trying to get her in bed is so wrong and so out of order and so disrespectful, that is almost is a crime of breaking traditions.

The movie shows very clear what it is to become a geisha, what offers one has to make, and what different kind of opinion even their "customers" have about their profession.

Falling in love is forbidden, it's against the rules and as the Geisha says: A Geisha is only half a housewife, because in the evening she belongs to her profession. Moving film, excellent play, beautiful and sad characters. The only thing that I found disturbing was the use of the English language in a movie so full of Eastern traditions, it was even ridiculous to hear it......it took away a lot of the original "charm"....

Ice Age 2 - The Meltdown...yeah, yeah, yeah, Everybody Loves Raymond...blah..blah

I hated the movie from the start, just the bloody voice of actor Ray Romano ruined all my expectations.....the rest is history...hope we'll never get buggered by a Meltdown, otherwise I will have bad and of course quite wet dreams about Mr.Romano....it's a nice movie for kids, but as great and hilarious as the first one...no, sorry....but with the best actors for the Dutch (it's such a pity that Joop Doderer isn't among the living anymore) or Norwegian versions, it will be a cool afternoon for them...I'm disappointed though....but...I'm no kid anymore....in case you want some fun, look here: http://www.iceagemovie.com/, click yourself into the USA-site, really cool...and uh, by the way, the animals on the pic could easily be replaced by Mr.Bush, Condolence (lol) Rice, shootin' "Dick"Cheney and others...well, they finally will have to pay some kind of price for their environmental non-present abilities...

It seems the only differences are: the colour of the hair, the moustache and the straight look ahead......the brain is as sick as the one of the person to the right.....

The phony French accent even forced me to get subtitles, Mr. Martin can't even speak phony French, he gets completely unintelligible...Peter Sellers we really could "follow easily" in his Frenchy...lol....
Well, I might have been biased, but nevertheless all the funnies are so exaggerated, so NOT FUNNY.....even the old cars are modernized as is the rest of the movie....I succeeded to stay awake.... the only thing recognizable was the way the French park their cars....that's still the same: one bump backward, one bump forward...repeat this 7 times and...wooooops..I'm parked...lol...
I think that Mr. Sellers would turn around in his coffin if he was able to see this copy, this bad copy..it's a pity he's gone forever.....even the Panther whispered in my ear: "Zank you for stopping thissu orrible movie, mon ami, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzank you....au revoir.......

The Master and the Ferrari-team are BACK!! But....the team has to fill the fuel faster than the competition...because only 0.8 seconds ruined the first possible Victory....
But even the Rookie did well, need though to learn to keep his mouth shut during a press-conference and need to look how to keep up pace and how to round swings....but Massa will learn, eventually....
The best though was the real fight behind the leaders....Formula-1 has finally regained their tension and joy, even the spectators world-wide will be glued again to their screens....this was a great Re-Start.....lol....

The C:\ isn't so bad, just errors, so I hope they can mend it on monday. Worst is my sec.HD G:\ which is "not-formated or damaged" which means a possible loss of 180Gb with incredible good and hard to find music...hope my data-wizzard can help me out....quite depressive all that...and just because I uninstalled a bloody "not asked for Google file"...I HATE Uncle Billy...

Although an oldie.....I can't stop watching it and listening to the for me well-known voices (of Norwegian actors), but of course everybody nowadays has the possibility to rent/buy the movie in their own language....and that means expressions like: " Oh Yes, that's.....really the best actor-voice for this creature...lololol...etc"...

The story is cute, even for grown-ups....most of the texts are really hilarious and the techniques used are superb, although I' ve seen better ones afterwards (like Madagascar....another cool movie for both kids and grown-ups)...most be quite a hard job, making these "actors" move, work together, speak, react...cool stuff, really...you'll have a ball...

Well, after watching this movie, some of the newspaper-articles/photographs about Iraq make more sense.

It explains very good why the USA should NOT be there.....kind of Nam-syndrome actually...

Story is ok and probably just taken out of the daily life over there, something that really starts me wondering why some of my countrymen still are there with their F -16 planes....

Guys, go home and leave this once beautiful country of Iraq to itself and its people and let them make decisions NOT based on our thinking, it's the wrong turn, believe me...

I think a must to see for everybody.....although tough to watch sometimes, but hey, that's really today's reality....

Well, the Norwegian gold-focus was this time left behind in Norway and NOT present in Torino at all.....and it showed....19 medals and only 2 gold ones ( but WHAT are they really complaining about....19!!! Medals...)....and a lot of reputations completely ruined....tears, faces filled with pain, favorites "destroyed", yelling and swearing coaches and a team with ski-preparing skills who screwed up when they shouldn't... and only ONE true athlete, the biathlonskier Bjoerndal who said: "I was not good enough this time, I had my focus probably somewhere else, maybe better luck next time....." and the worst of all.....The Swedes had the best Olympic Games ever when they "imported" Norwegian leaders and trainers....lol....even a Gold Medal in Biathlon for women....what NEVER had happened before....I personally stopped watching TV from Torino, except of course for the achievements of the Dutch skaters...THAT was great work...(Maybe Erben Wennermars finally got it.....slow start instead of being a catapult...that produces medals....)...and of course God was with the Dutch Bob-team...that looked nasty....all in all....it was quite a boring set of individual games....but that's my opinion...

The only thing that really pissed me off was that the Austrian team demanded the ski races done all over again because their blood-doping guys were DISTURBED in their beautysleep by visiting police, who found bloodexchangers in the house of the team....I DO hope (I'm not positive about it because the Olympic Committee Management are all cowards) that they will be excluded from the next Olympic Games, just to show the youth that this is NO sportsbehaviour....and I do hope too that the Italian police will prosecute and that they will be fined according to Italian law.....

Will there ever be Games without these cheaters??????

A Night at McCools...a HOT movie review...I'm still laughing...

I' ve seen this one 5 or 6 times and every time I'm watchin' with pleasure, especially the absolute crazy last scene.....it's a total looney movie, but so cute and nice....mixture of Reba, HelenHunt, fat John and even Michael Douglas looks like Stevie van Sant, included the stunning hair....Reba should have stayed in her own show, by the way...lol....but the rest of the crew is hilarious...even the priest (from "6 feet under"..)

And even if you're married, you get a nice feeling looking at that sexy kitten that purrs around and sometimes, well, even, well, no I couldn't, uhr, well, maybe , nooooooooooo....lol

Enjoy it, it's so coooooooooooooooooooool and HOT at the same time...hahahahahahahaha...and the music is great as well, you'll remember most of the songs....

Maybe Peter Müller should learn something from this Gold Medal (won by his ex....). Don't screw up the expectations, just do your usual job and skate as good as you can at this moment....results always show HOW GOOD you are...and it shouldn't be because of a Norwegian starter who seems to pick out his Dutch victims...

Most of us have read the story of Nostradamus (picture at the left). Those who have, are trembling now, because of what is happening globally in the world right now. If the heads of state do not stop this rage, the final conclusion of this clairvoyant will be over us within a very short period of time. And then May God Have Mercy Upon Us All......

Cool movie, even this one I watched til the end....I was there in front of my TV-screen when it happened, so....
The movie showed clearly that the killing of 9 of the 11 terrorists from that period was sanctioned by Mrs. Golda Meir. But I think everybody will have some peace after it all was over, because it was just an eye for an eye etc etc....
For me unknown artists, but very likeable and real players, knowing to express the feeling that even they became killers for the sake of the nation Israel.
Sometimes quite bloody, sometimes the explosives didn't work and even a Dutch killing, something that was completely new for me...but one always learns...

A Norwegian family saw what happened when 110 ml rain/hour dropped from the sky, caused by global warming and melting snow from the surrounding mountains. Stealth: well, the usual supertechno-crap.....though there are some interesting shots: the newest Stealth taking off from a flightcarrier, unbelievably real...the sound is GREAT (I'm blessed with great soundboxes), sometimes my neighbour knocked on the door telling me that he heard a jetplane in the building....lol....story is well....supermodern Stealthplane goes haywire..... etcetcetc....
still wondering why they copied the spaceships from War of the Worlds and got away with it...

KingKong: yawn...............I do prefer the 1933 movie...lol....but I like his eyes though...

Narnia Chronicles: COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL movie...nice mix of real and graphic moviestuff, but not for the "little" children, some scenes are a cause for some real nightmares...but the sound is great, bright colors and a great spoken sound too....almost no weak moments at all....it's cute to hear a beaver talking cockney and to see an icequeen who really need contact-lenses...and the proverbial lion who speaks Balmoral english....

Football "Butcher" states erased from WC in Germany

After Butcher states like Turkey and Uruguay have been removed from the WC in Germany, we hope that the FIFA will issue new behaving rules for the football-players on the field and that they will instruct their referees to use a lot of RED cards so the players will GET IT.....
And I 'm not surprised that the EU doesn't want Turkey to become a member state seeing what those aggressive footballplayers are able to....and I do hope they will severely been punished with e.g. exclusion for a couple of years. You could easily see that they were tackling to hurt/damage other players, aiming at ankles, feet and knees.....and DELIBERATELY!!!
And let's rejoice....4 Dutch coaches did their jobs and joined the WC...so: If you're not Dutch, you're not much....lol

Global warming...even in Norway

This is what happened in Bergen in Norway after 289 mm of rain in 24 hours, which moved a layer of unstable soil (included a parking lot with 25 cars) and started a landslite......no they didn't recover the other cars, this was the "lucky one".....25 roads have been blocked and a lot of people are "out of reach" for a couple of days....

"Rita".....from class 1 to class 4 within 48 hours...and then to class 5...

As I wrote in my issue on Mother Earth, I described the increase in ferocity within short time for hurricanes and see what happened to hurricane Rita. The only thing that can make things worse, that it turns into a Tornado F-5, one of the future problems too...

The Gulf of Mexico is almost a complete circle and when the hurricane gets enough push from the warm layers and starts turning and twisting, one might end up with the mentioned tornado F-5 (the worst class..)...let's hope it doesn't....

And now the oilplatforms are in severe danger too....hope Mr.Bush finally realises that it's getting worse....and that the former record of 20 storms a year has been broken with the introduction of 2 new ones....and the story will continue....

Creating that deep sensation of feeling blue......a review

This time something Scandinavian......for a while ago I saw a program on STV1 (Swedish TV channel 1) ; a kind of livin' room and everybody talking english(UR-educational channel) and there was she, Nina Kinert, lovely little lady, talking about longing, feelings, feeling blue and she sang a beautiful song that really broke my heart.....

Finding her music on record was almost impossible, but today I finally could put mu hands on her first album: Heartbraketown (when she broke my heart I didn't know anything at all about her....)
At the same time I discovered that she will issue a new album "Let there be love" on october 26th...and of course I pre-ordered it...

Her style is simple, a real groovy mix of "feeling blue", Joan Baez, Coleman Hawkins and a fabulous bassplayer....and great lyrics...it fits really in this time of year, autumn, rain, falling yellow leaves, the clouds hurrying towards winter...the wind blowing your sorrows away...really cool...

Take a trip to your local music-store......the label is Sony...and yes, she sings in English...

By the way....getting used to "new" music....

The person who started all this, was my daughter (in law) Marjolijn....she had asked me for a melody that was "so coooool and nice", and I finally found it...music from a band called "Magic System", originated from Algeria, but mainly peforming in France and Spain. Together with them on that record was performing Muhamed Lamine, probably only known in the Arabic African countries. Some of my cyberfriends now almost forced me to have " a listening look" into this arabic kind-a-music and so I did....

And slowly I started to learn to listen to the for me still "unacceptable" music and I started to like it.....

So my cyberfriends from the Far-East gave me other contacts to their music and I decided to try to collect them, both for me and maybe my grandkids, to let them listen to music older than our civilisation, played from one generation to another....and maybe they appreciate it....and will broaden their view in this, their world...

I have now music from Marocco to Nepal and via China to Old-Japan and from there to Alaska, real Indian music (The Dance of the Wolf a.o....) to music of the old Inca people and so to South Africa for music of the Bosjesmannen....increasingly adapting my ears and understanding for this beautiful sound of "far away" civilisations, that are ours....

"Chaos & Creation in the Backyard" creates a lot of chaos in our heads, it's a confusing mix of old melodies put into a new jacket.....you think, this will be "Maxwells Silver Hammer" and then comes a new song....unbelievable for us old Beatles-fans....it's utterly chaos because his voice starts to get "old", the great velvet-like voice of the best ballad singer in my life-time has some severe problems to get right to the correct tone and level of the song....and that's bad...
I know he's long passed his fifties now, but...really, let him be at peace and maybe he can use his talents in writing music for other talented singers (why not create songs for Norah Jones??)...the only song that hit home with me was "English Tea" with " Too much rain" in second spot...but strangely enough: the album is a kind of creation for him again.....he's using a lot of tones and combination of tones which sounds "almost false" at first, but when you hear the song once again, it sounds really like a new challenge to your ears...although I have the faint feeling that these songs are made "In the Backyard" on his Saturday-off.....
As you can conclude: Chaos, contradictions, some new type of music-creation?????????

Well, I wanted to wait until Mr.Bush told the people in the US of A what was wrong, last night live from NO..... He admitted the help came too late, but that was all.....he was full of progressive shit, already talking about the future of the states involved and NOT ONE TIME the word Kyoto agreement came out of his presidential mouth. HE STILL DOESN'T GET IT!!!!

Some facts about Global Warming: thunderstorms will increase in power, one bang of today is 100 bangs in the near future and those bangs will tear down buildings; the lightnings will increase in voltage and could easily start a cityfire, not only a bushfire..(sorry, wasn't intentional...lol), as said before the hurricanes will all start as class 3's and increase their power easily to a class 5..., smoke will cover a part of the earth and even we will see it, more catastrophes as New Orleans will be more common, bacteria will start to flourish, new strains will not be curable anymore....and last but not least, the floodings will poison the rivers and seas, and that's it.....you can add your own conclusions to mine...

There have been a lot of ??? in the Katarina-case: I saw for 3 days all the shit on CNN on TV, but the chief-in-charge Mr.Brown FEMA said he didn't know anything at all, hadn't seen anything at all.....no reports had reached him....unbelievable.. you could see that he longed back to his former position trying to increase the number of paperclips in some central office....and then the Mayor with his big mouth.....what about the 145 busses which were NOT surrounded by water when the "move your ass out of the city" warning was given...and no drivers, come on, every guy can drive a buss....it would probably have saved the 789 casualties of today (and we're still countin'...)...so don't blame everything on the federal government Mr.Mayor...

Than finally after 4 days, the first military assistance became visible....15 trucks swimming through the waters of Main Street...why after 4 days? The USA is capable of lifting 50.000 soldiers in one week, so why wait that long...no chain of command anymore? What about the 40 compressed containers from the Dutch government which filled with sand would secure the levies within 7-12 hours, the stuff was already loaded in a Galaxy-freighter in Holland....no, they wanted to do that themselves, with no more money and too little human capacity.....really........

And the most significant thing was: I almost never saw any whites/blankies/caucasians on CNN in New Orleans....only black people, afro-americans in horrible conditions, no food, no water, no nothin'...the dead in rollchairs, just not visible because somebody had the respect to cover the body with a blanket.....it looked to me like, well, I don't know, something from the 3d world...

I think that the poverty problem of the Southern States clearly was made visible to the people in the USA and abroad!!! No doubt about that...

And what's left of this beautiful traditional city? Well, the French quarter is still there, but no great music is heard and will not be heard for a while.....but it will come back again....so let's pray for the people of those Southern States and for their president who still doesn't get it.....

And please, stop calling disaster hurricanes by their female names.....use some nice scandinavian ones, like Thor, Loki, Sigurd, or whatever....Baldur by all means.....but stop givin' the women of this world the blame for catastrophes (remember it were the guys who stopped the financing of the levies in New Orleans, not the women...).....you even could name them by bad presidents...hurricane Bush would be nice....just a suggestion

"Mother Earth warning" - Her body is so SICK.......

Well, now it's finally here.....a real warning from Mother Earth...the City of Jazz, New Orleans has been asked to get rid of its citizens for a while because of a comin' hurricane which will strike with windspeeds of 175-200 miles per hour....we always looked upon catastrophe-movies with bewildered eyes and we thought: God what will happen when it 's a reality? Well, here it is....

And that's not all.....Our beloved Mother IS really sick and she needs to react in different ways: she's crying out loudly, hoping that somebody will listen....flooding a.o. Switserland and other states there about...yesterday a cloud-burst hit Oslo and my beautiful flowery veranda changed from a summary green to a completely white "dress" of apporx. 2cm big ice-cubes, directly from the sky in more then 15 minutes and at the end of August...

Tsunami......yep.....another way to warn, but I don't think that somebody will listen before it's too late again and again and again and again...some of the flooded islands are still under water and will saty that way......and even Peru and Australia showed signs being hit of the tsunami, although hardly visible.....

The change of climate is an advantage for diseases like the birdflue.....already now seagulls in Finland seem to have it.....and that's quick....first China, so Indonesia, so Tschechenya and Russia and now Finland, who's next? Good to see that my countrymen take some measures, putting the chickens inside the chickenhouses.....but will it help?

Researchers have notified the WWF, that they found the piranha's in the Orinoco have become extremely aggressive lately......a lot of Codfish seems to have turned grey instead of the beautiful seacolour...crabs develop more tentacles than the Lord gave them at Creation Day....

We all have seen the Worldchampionship in Finland and the heavy rain that threatened the athletes... well today in the same country, just rain was predicted at the Helsinki Open Golf Tournament, and out of the blue came a hurricane which blow the tent with the players and officials 30 meters away...blows of at least 100 km/hour lifted up commercial stuff and created a real life-threatening situation for the creme de la creme of the female Golfsport........

Let's hope an pray that the measures taken by some USA States to start controlling the CO-2 emissions will be followed by more and more states, maybe then Mother Earth will calm down, seeing that somebody is takin' it seriously...

Well, there were at least more than 700-800.000 attendants when he finally said goodbye to all his youthful catholics in Germany. And after quite a long period of silence, he started to say something fruitful: the Church had made quite some mistakes lately and was sorry for them. Yes, I'm talking about the Pope of course.

But he re-established the wordly vision of his predecessor and visited both Jews and Muslims, quite a treat!! Politics is still a stronghold in the Vatican and with a German born Pope, well it's easy, they are like that, all of them....

Important though is that he told the young people to be role-models, to establish a new future, to try to look forward and not back, and when already 700-800.000 will do so, we might see a new world one day.....and we really gonna need that right now....

It was good to see that he could walk all by himself, he looked straight forward, he waved and made a thank-you gesture in a somewhat feminine way, but he smiled and at the same time he gave all the youth a glance.....and he spoke his native tongue, German, and that was a relief for all of us, now we could understand the Pope, anyway I did.....

Hope this enormous effort will contribute to a better future......

Really! When I bought 3 webcams and gave my children one each, I really did look for more eye-contact with them...they were in Holland and I was here in Norway. Well, a big success it wasn't for starters. Once in a while I got in contact but than it stopped again....and then the grandchildren came "along" and so did the transmissions. Seeing my 4 children and now 4 grandchildren really makes the difference during the day and evenings.....even Sebastiaan finally moved his "head into his heart" and installed MSN. And I installed XP on a new HD and there it was: the option "whole screen"....new to me and new to them. I heard Casper say: Oh, Look that's Opa, he IS big.....when seeing me on the screen in real size...(well only my upper torso....blush...) and yes the mike did work....
So from now on I can see all of them in widescreen. Besides seeing that Marjolijn was recovering from her pregnancy, I saw Lucas for the first time in widescreen. Great kid.....still don't know whom he looks like....maybe in a couple of months...and the nice thing is that one can ask a guest to "have a look too", as I did than, but that option didn't work out so well.... but now I'm waiting for some more regular shows from all my kids and grandkids....it's not Talpa, but it still does a lot of good work for me...
Still don't know what OS I should choose but for the moment it is switching between W2K and XP, but definitely XP when it comes to webcam and my family.....

I saw only a half-hour of it and than clicked on the "STOP" button....will he ever change from the man behind "The Mask" into something more valuable like the guy from "The Truman Show"?
EVERY MOVE he's making in this sad story, is taken from "The Mask", even his quite boring lines..and yes, I'm talking about Jim Carey....the only guy who really deserves an applause is the make-up man/woman....that IS a great accomplishment, really....
Most of all I loved Sunny, the little one (who could become a great star) who bites her way through the story, great kid and GREAT lines!!! Probably the only good ones in the movie. Meryl Streep is herself, getting old, completely confused as ever in real life, but cute in her own way. Violet is the beauty: a smaller replica of Norah Jones, cute, can REALLY act!!! The rest I just forgot (maybe except for the short appearance of this Irish/Scottish actor with his funny accent and his weird love for snakes......).......don't buy the movie, rent one, you will see WHY!!!

Signs tell us that this group of bastards is slowly but surely on the rebound....they are starting to make mistakes that might cost them their influence in certain groups of the population....
It all started with the killing of the Egyptian Ambassador, main blunder, an official representative of a nation that still supported Al-Qaida most of the time....that's over now! And it continued.....they started to kill other officials form countries like Pakistan, Sudan and last but not least Qatar.....
and so the very daring and brave Mr. Musjarav started to get his hands, finally, on groups with connections to this band of Dogbrothers and their will be more arrests...

And then they forgot to tell the London bombers that the devices they carried were "personal" and that they would cost their lives....main blunder.....main blunder too to pick out England, a country with people with a will to live, a society so colored that you might get dizzy when looking around you...main blunder too to let the new bombers of yesterday fix their own bombs so that they could escape without dying..
The police chased a guy of Asian origin while the electrical wires still were dangling from his coat.....and probably a simple orderly in the hospital prohibited the capture of this institution by calling the police...and finally today (if....and I say if....it was such a bomber) they got a possible suicidebomber on the run and shot him dead on the sub....the best solution for us normal people.... and at the same time the bombers left behind their main source of info, non-detonated bombs which will give an ocean of information. And knowing the pattern of action by the Scotland Yard and the MI5, they will pass on that info to all European countries, so we will see a lot of arrests made by the local police in the quite near future...

Al-Qaida threatens today known capitals as Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Paris....well wrong again!! The Dutch will get them raw; after the killing of Van Gogh they will retaliate in a way never been seen before in this world of today. Even Oslo was mentioned......well be aware you Dogs, here everybody is prepared for you...just as in England, we have a lot of different and beautiful "colors" in our population and they will defend their values as being Islamic, THEY read the Koran, every word and every syllable of it and they KNOW that this wonderful book never ever has described killing innocent people as a way to level discussions....

And yes, the Mayor of London was right: if the USA and the others allies hadn't bother to try to free Iraq/Afghanistan, this might not have been happening at all, but dear Mr.Mayor....it happened, keep yourself to the reality of today.....

Being against capital punishment all my life, I changed my preference as by today....the victims do not get a fair "trial", so why should the offender get one!!??

Hope that our God/Allah or whatever you call Him, will stop this lunacy one day with just one move of His hand...

Today Bernadette took the plane (KLM of course) back to the Netherlands after 33 years in Norway. A great adventure got its final blessing. We had a great time together, whatever the outcome finally was to be. We had a good life, a great house(s), 2 beautiful children Sebastiaan and Veronica ( and together with their partners for life Bart and Marjolijn they gave us already 4 grandchildren, Casper, Robin, Marius and last but not least little Lucas) and lots of friends who will be very disappointed now Bernadette returns "home".

But it was the right decision. Made after real tough considerations, taking into account the good life she had here, regardless of her handicap. It was time to go home, and so she did.
We will all miss you, but we wish you all the happiness, prosperity and good fortune, you deserve it. And thank you for all the love, friendship and happiness you spread around you here in Norway.....

And it was moving to hear that so many people turned up at the Airport to welcome her back in her native country, so she would have the best start possible...

Lucas, my 4th grandson has been born....

War of the Worlds - a review

Sad, sad, sad.......it's Spielbergs worst movie in years. Don't waste your money on it....
It's a "dark" movie, both in presentation and colors. It's boring, not exciting, not scary and the digital stuff could probably be produced by my son/son in law in an even better way.......
The story behind it really sucks..........Cruise is an ok actor, but I would suggest that he reads his scripts before turning into a loser....really people, don't use your money on it....it's BAD!!!!!!!!!!
I must say that I watched the old one first, the one from 1957 and I really enjoyed that one.........that might tell you all enough....

Sad he couldn't be here......60 years after...
He really had deserved to be here with his "mates" to celebrate and to mourn his fallen comrades. And to receive the gratitude from the people, even after so many years.
The only gratitude my father got was the message from my grandfather that he had caused the dead of my mother and that "the child" died too........and with that bloody lie he had to live so many years....until he was presented for a whole new family, all of his own....
As a Canadian MP Lance Corporal he was decorated 4 times for bravery in the field, he almost lost his whole battalion because they had beaten the Frogs so badly that their newly advanced positions were unknown by the general staff, so they bombarded the sector he just had conquered, losing all the officers and most of his buddies.....but he survived....a real Wolfe....
He "opened up" Mauthausen and the first thing he had to do was to collect all the guns and rifles from his platoon to prevent them shooting every Frog they saw.......and the only thanks he got was from a German officer, a heavy silver cigarettebox........the only souvenir he saved from that bloody war....
And when he met Nanny in Holland, it was the start of something beautiful and.......me......
He and my mother are finally together "up there" and they will keep the look-out for me, Pam and Ronald and my children and grandchildren....they are both proud, I know that for sure.....
But still it's sad he isn't here anymore...........and yes I miss him most of the time.....that will probably never disappear....I know that now, being a father and grandfather too.

What a dissapointment, my God (where was He? Visiting his holy Mother maybe?)
For all the young people and the Catholic Church as a whole a catastrophe......I had bad thoughts up front....a new Pope on the 2d day and when the Camerlingo started in Italian (Fratelli e sorelli...) it was followed directly by German and then I KNEW!!!!! May God really have mercy upon us....
Well, the consequences:
1. No condoms
2. No abortion
3. No livin'-together
4. No women in the church
5. Homosexuality is a sinn, still
6. No married priests
........really, this starts a new DARK AGE in the world and in the Catholic Church.....
It doesn't really help that there's peace between the various believes, that there's understanding between the races.....
I will always consider the 19th of April 2005 as a real dark day in my life....(but, who knows...maybe they will call him for PP, the PanzerPope and.....he got an award for his outstanding sense of humor in 1988.....I'm afraid WE all will need that and a lot of PATIENCE....)

Football is going sour....it's not safe anymore to take your kids to a football-match...either they learn racistexpressions or they see the "disturbing" attitude of both players and fans when not all is ok on the field....
If we continue in this direction, soon all the troublesome arena' s will either get closed or manned with riot police (Suggestion: use the Belgian Rijkswacht and your troubles are over before you know it), although the latter case might even create a new catastrophe as in the Heijssel stadium for so many years ago, an event I watched together with Sebastiaan in total disbelief....
When you see what Hooligans do and will do, I think that the UEFA has to take some severe measures to get rid of this kind of people, even on the field....
Fans.....search them when entering the arena, no sales of hard liquors or beer, no flags, no flagpoles etc, sad but it might help for a couple of years until everybody has cooled down and gets the picture...
Players on the field........use of a elbow - red card...before somebody gets killed...sliding from behind (before the last WC the FIFA told the referees to use the red card for this - what happened? - right..NOTHING....)red card...big mouth - green card (from the hockey field, 2 minutes out!, works great) more big mouth....red card.....
To let you see the picture of lasts nights game between AC Milan and Internazionale: a frustrated Inter used their big mouth with every opportunity and the referee only once used yellow....and in the actual moment, when the referee clearly made a mistake (video shows NOBODY made any fault in front of the goal) the same frustrated guy who scored a clean goal opened his mouth and gets yellow and after that it exploded as one could see....
Even good referee's make mistakes and of course you can protest, that's your right, but you have to keep it within the rules of the game.....
I really hope the UEFA/FIFA this time makes a harsh example of what this kind of bad behaviour will provoke by means of the "punishment" they will give Internazionale.........poor guys....De Telegraaf of today showed a picture of 2 players of both ACMilan and Inter, arms around each other, looking at the inferno on the field, unable to "get it" and to stop it....football is playing for bankruptcy this way........

Everybody hopes for a "Family" Pope

Now we have buried the "Peace" Pope (he wasn't really a young people's Pope after all), we can only hope that the good Lord isn't on vacation or in his garden watering his heavenly Brussels sprouts.....

The funeral was the best proof of the late Pope's legacy: most of the world-leaders who didn't want to see/meet each other or have been long-time enemies couldn't avoid the "peaceful" handshake we Catholics exchange during mass.....

And business was as usual: they denied afterwards that they did.........

The burial reminded me of a Jewish funeral I once attended. No flowers, naked coffin, yak......but the public didn't mind and showed their respect by applauding the late pope's body....I must admit I was very much moved by the fact that the coffin was turned towards "his" public for a last time as saying "goodbye for now" and after that last farewell to "his" public, carried into the St. Peters Church.

So, the next Pope....let he be a family man....let him urge the old cardinals and the Curie to discuss prevention, abortion, livin' togetherness and above all homosexuality, let him urge them to start to live in the PRESENT and not in the 15th century (even those who lived then were very much "enlightened")...only then he will be a Pope to remember when he finally dies one day far in the future...

Nanny, my mother and the first van Dijk - Keeshond, Lammetje (= Little Lamb because of the lamblike fur) and although the picture is in ancient black & white, you can see that the fur is much darker than the one Gino has today. Norwegian breeders did not like dark (original) Keeshonden, so they breed'm light. But everybody knows that's not right, originally they really are dark...and though you can't see it here, the rings around the eyes (it's "brandmark") are so much more visible on dark Keeshonds than on whiter ones....
Unfortunately Lammetje got the feared typical Keeshond-disease called for the 7 year-itch bug (it strangely returns every 7 years)which affect and destroys the kidneysystem within a couple of weeks, no cure, it's a kind of ebolabug, no way back....and it can kill up to 60% of all Keeshonds. In Scandinavia we were able (knock on wood) to avoid this itch which means that there are almost more Keeshonds here than in the Netherlands....
My grandfather send me to the Amsterdam Zoo the day they let Lammetje go to sleep......so when I came home he wasn't there anymore...and I couldn't stop crying for many days....wel, all good things come to an end...

Yes he is....at first livin' in Norway, and after that he took the plane to Holland and Utrecht to his first "new" boss Sebastiaan, finally back in the land of his ancestors and race....these 2 were really dog and boss, Gino obeying really every command he received from Sebastiaan....after the kids popped up at his domicile in Utrecht, Veronica took over and "installed" him in Lelystad (Bart deserves really a pat on the shoulder for Gino's really beautiful fur..)where he now guards Marius and the rest of the household..

The "Young People's" Pope John Paul II - 1920-2005

The Lord finally took him into His House. The world is mourning. Following his well-CNN-recorded struggle, I finally got to know him beter than ever....heard things about him, well known to everybody, that I might have shut my soul for...why?, I don't know...John Paul was my 5th Pope, but now I do realize that for my children he was their only and first Pope....and he didn't die alone...some 60-70.000 of his family were present to support him on his last voyage to his Saviour...

Sebastiaan and Veronica, I would like to apologize to you for having criticized him so much, I don't know why, but I must have lived on another planet for some years. It was so moving to see all those essentially young people participating in a world-wide and international wake, to support the man who had loved them so much and now they were there for him, to pray with him, for him and to ask the good Lord to end his suffering. And so He did........

The only excuse I might have for my behaviour could be my dissapointment with the conservatism he was a champion for. I had great hopes after Pope John 23d that the world could change for the better, even in the church. But so didn't happen. Sebastiaan mostly agreed with what I said, but made it clear that "it was the wrong century Pappa!" Maybe that time will come now, maybe we will get a new Pope who will have to work really hard to obtain what this Pope achieved in his life-time. And continues to build and build....

Having fully followed the wakes of the last 2 nights, I might go to sleep tonight thanking God for this extraordinary
representative He called Home....and may he rest in peace....

Death, Honesty and Respect

The case Terri Schiavo has shown again that people seems to need a kind of "treatment last will". Regardless of the typical American way of trampling all over ones rights (and I do hope the American public will remember at the next election which senators, including Senator nr.1 their own President, tried to bend the American Constitution and their judges and that they never will be elected again) one seems to need a clear description how to be treated when lying in a hospital without any possibility to recover. And I do hope this case will be the startingpoint for a real discussion about respect and the last will of people....or just respect for the difficult situation other people/countries might be in....Americans have a problem with spelling that word: R-E-S-P-E-C-T !!!!!!!

Yesterday I filled out such a will, a Norwegian one, so my kids will know what I want when that day should come, God forbid......it might not be juridical valid, but there's where the word RESPECT comes in....

I still wonder why those supporters in front of that hospice tried to "save Terri"? Her soul was gone to the Lord for 15 years ago, just the plant-like body was left....sounds harsh, but that's what vegetative state means...in car-terms: the motor is running but the gearbox is gone.........and worse: even the so-called educated people at the Senate and the House didn't realise that they were trying to support the rights of a plant.....

I'm very happy that the Dutch realise that respect is an essential part of life, hence their legislation in this difficult field...

The Pope: I do hope the good Lord will take him to His Yard soon. He's done a great job here on earth and I must say: Lord, why did You give him so much pain and sorrow after all he succeeded with? He was a true representative for You...so, please spare him this suffering...and give us one back as good and diplomatic as he was....but a bit more liberal....more one of us, more a modern Leader....we all need that..

Snow in The Netherlands!! And even more than in Norway!! We have only a thin layer (5 cms) but the sun is shining and temperatures are now really low, even during the day. With the sun shining, the temps are up to -10 degr.C, but last night they went down to -16 degr.C.
That's still nothing compared to the inner parts of Norway where the temps were down to -35 degr. C, still "spring-ish" according to the people living there.......and they are going down even more, is the prediction.....
So, you people "down-there", drive carefully and rather use the train, which might be late but you certainly will make your appointments.....and learn the kids to make a real Dutch Snowman, it's not so often that will happen nowadays...

World Championship Skiing

Today the Norwegians really had a BALL! They started the last day with a triple victory on the 50 kms and managed to show some courtesy on the 7,5 km Nordic by "letting" Germany take the last gold medal of the championship while Norway took the "rest" silver and bronze.

Total pot: 7 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze in 19 exercises.........not bad one in each race!! And of course they won the Championships totalpoints class as well...........

The team which is preparing the skis, made it alright again after ruining our most secure gold medal on the sprint women (Marit Bjoergen) so they way they prepared the skis was evidently 1000% better than the rest of the participants.

All in all a really great Norwegian Championship with some foreign competition on the side....

Winter up North

Well, here all hell is loose. Yesterday we had minus 10 degr.C. Today it's plus 2 degr.C. At Greenland weather station they measured 6 degr.C.PLUS!!! Today Tynset (mostly one of the coldest spots in Norway) had -17 degr.C but Tromsoe up north had + 3degr.C!! One of the icebarriers in the Norwegian part of Lapland is melting while other lakes (usually covered with a thin icelayer) are totally deepfrozen so that the caribous can't get their fluids....
The famous Northern light is beaming in the sky like a flash bulb.......even at our site in Oslo.....
But I might not tell anything new: look at the way Mother Earth is reacting nowadays.......snow in Nice, France, closed schools in England (even Manu played their footballmatch in snowy weather), chaos on the German highways. The only place were they need snow Oberstdorf Germany, well they have it there too.....keeping the Norwegians smiling when finalizing the World Skiing Championships with even more gold medals (they lost 2 gold medals because the people who usually prepare the skis had a bad day.........and THAT, my friends, was clearly visible!!)
Now the sun is shining over here and temperature is quickly climbing to 6-7 degr.C.........so have a nice day where ever you are.....
